A: When your current hosting provider can no longer answer the demands of your site, or when you undergo constant downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the client service team to get back to you, it might be a clever idea to swap your provider, i.e. to move all the files for your web sites along with your databases from your present provider to your new provider. At Plus Hosting, we are aware that this can be difficult and time–consuming. Because of this, we will perform all that for you for free!Our seasoned technical staff reps will migrate your website content from your present web hosting provider to us. Our technicians have got plenty of experience with web site migration and are able to take care of everything – from a conventional WordPress–powered blog or Joomla^™–driven web site, to an extremely complex, custom–built web app.

A: There are a lot of variables to think about – the overall amount of files, the size of the database, the complexity of the website itself and the current workload of our web site migration professionals, etc. Having said that, we do try to perform all web site migrations within a 48–hour window. Smaller web sites are migrated faster – typically in under 24 hours.

A: We’ll require the login information for your current web hosting provider’s Control Panel as well as the web site’s name (domain name).

A: Before we can start the transfer of your hosting account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to share essentially the same information you have provided to your old hosting provider. We’ve also got a very strict Privacy Policy, which describes how personal information is tackled.

A: Your web site will work just like it did before with your old web hosting provider. Once we have completed the transfer, your site will be configured to work on our hosting platform and we will alert you to preview it. If it is working properly, all you will need to do is update the NS resource records corresponding to your domain name. Your site will be transferred to us without any downtime whatsoever.

A: Nah. Apart from your login info for the Control Panel, we won’t require anything. We will never touch base with your web hosting provider. They will not know anything about the migration either.

A: We support all Linux–driven hosting platforms. Essentially, if we can access your Control Panel, we will be able to transfer your website.The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source website management platforms such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
