A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming email messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you have a Linux shared hosting service with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally only a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature right away, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to configure a catch-all email address with no more than one click in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting service with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up using any domain name hosted in your semi-dedicated hosting account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable this functionality will be to click that icon. In the exact same manner you will be able to disable the feature, if you don’t need it anymore. Our system will notify you in case you are attempting to activate a 2nd catch-all address for a particular domain or if there is enabled email forwarding, but it will never disable or modify any feature automatically and without your approval.
